Well, I am glad for all of you wedding planners and Invitation/Stationers. Many of you are a help to me. I have met a lot of helpful planners over the past few weeks by networking. And I also think that SOME brides (younger ones but not all) Do not understand HANDWRITTEN Calligraphy. I am thankful for you!!!

I received an email from a person in the UK named John Frumy. He stated he wanted to hire me as his wedding planner for his December 27, 2008 wedding. His first email was of course the hook, but my red flags were still waving high. He sent me a follow up email stating he wanted me to book everything for him, but his company was going to send me a check. Half of that check was my fees, the other half I was to get a Western Union Cashier check and send to his pastor. Boy, that really made my flags wave even more.
I emailed him back saying I will not accept cashier checks unless from my local bank, that he needed to email me a credit card number for payment. I also informed him I will not be the one who pays his pastor. If he was able to get in touch with him to book him for a wedding, then he can send the payment himself.
I guess he realized he was not dealing with a fool and has not sent me any other emails.
I wanted everyone to keep an eye out. This is not the first time this has happened to me. The first time, I was almost taken for over $3000, but thank God for my husband.
I have planned many international wedding through email, for years, and never had a problem. These scams are recent in the wedding industry.
If anyone receives an email from someone internationally, please, please, please do not accept cashier checks.
The saying is true, "fool me once shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me."
Have a great day, please read my retreat forum, I have added a questionaire, eager for input.

I had a bride ask me if I would help her plan her wedding for free, in exchange for her helping me at other weddings! Ha, ha,ha, ha.............. that's so funny!
Can you imagine, letting a client know your secrets and then have to work for her! Ha, ha, ha!!!!!

Ok now that is my biggest irritation. And for me at that point the meeting is over because if you dont understand the value of a wedding planner then we dont have anything to really discuss. Luckly for me that question has never come up at a meeting, its usually when they call my office that I hear that. Just rude!

How often do you hear "who would be stupid enough to hire a wedding planner?" They say it right to my face. How Rude! My response is the ones who want the remember their wedding day, and smile.

So much fun

I just had the best day ever. Me and my family just spent the entire day at the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp gala. You should have seen people bidding $30,000 and up for really neat things. Alec Baldwin was there. My son was so excited because he had met him a couple of years ago and Mr. Baldwin remembered him. It was the hightlight of my son's summer. It was such a great time and millions was raised for camp.
